EXPOSED! Kiss Daniel Busted Over Fake Designer Wear

Only days after Davido’s brother, aka Chairman HKN called out Nigerian artistes in the business of putting on fake designer wears, Kiss Daniel has been fingered as guilty.

Only some days ago, the singer shared a picture on Instagram to show off a necklace worth N14 million gifted to him by popular jeweler, Malivelihood. In the picture, Kiss Daniel was seen wearing a nice ‘Louis Vuitton’ designer sweat shirt which earned him compliments from his followers.

However, a meticulous fan spent time to ascertain the  quality of the singer’s LV designer wear, only to discover that Kiss Daniel was rocking a fake. The US-based fashion police exposed the singer on social media by sharing a zoomed-in version of the picture to reveal the variance of Kiss’ wear from the original LV designer wear. In his post, he wrote,

‘Imo Needs 20 Universities’, Says Governor Okorocha

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has revealed that the state needs not less than 20 universities to take care of the increasing population of qualified applicants of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) from the state who are yearly denied admissions because of certain unfavourable polices like catchment areas and limited admission spaces.

The governor said this when the Founder of the LORDS CHOSEN Church, Pastor Lazarus Muoka visited him on courtesy call at the Government House, with other leaders of the church on Friday, March 23, 2018, to inform the governor that his Church has come to establish a World-Class University in the state.

Okorocha, who accented to a request for land from the visitors, also instructed that land should be allocated to the church immediately for that purpose.

He also gave the church N10m to enable them clear the site of the intended university, with the governor stating that for the seventh time, the state has continued to lead in JAMB applications with wide margin.

According to him, in 2018, the state topped the JAMB application chart with 92,980 applications and added that out of this number, it would be surprising to see more than 5,000 applicants having admissions into the universities because of certain policies and grossly limited slots.

The governor noted that education was the biggest industry in the state and assured Muoka that the state would support the church to ensure that the university is started and finished for academic activities to begin.

Zlatan Ibile Debunks Rumours Of Him Signed To Davido’s Record Label

Contrary to rumours making grounds that fast rising singer Omoniyi Temidayo, aka Zlatan Ibile has joined Davido Music Worldwide (DMW), the singer has revealed that he is still signed to coded records.

Davido has on several occassion showed his love for Zlatan by dancing to his song “My Body” and he has also done a song with him titled “Osale” which is ye to be released.

Former VP Sambo visits President Buhari

Former Vice President with the Goodluck Jonathan-led administration Namadi Sambo visited President Muhammadu Buhari.

Buhari hosted the ex vice president at the State House in Abuja.

According to Punch, the meeting lasted 25 minutes, with Sambo arriving around 12 PM, and leaving 12:25 PM.

Sambo refused to speak to the state house correspondents, only saying, “it was a private meeting,” before leaving in his car.

Andreas Christensen says he sought out former Chelsea captain John Terry to help address concerns over his form.

The 21-year-old centre-back has broken into the first team at Stamford Bridge this season, making 36 appearances in all competitions, but has made costly errors in recent weeks.

Doctors Suspend 72-Day-Old Strike In Kogi

Doctors under the auspices of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) Kogi chapter, have suspended their 72-day old strike to enable further negotiations with the state government.

The chairman of the chapter, Godwin Tijani, said this on Tuesday in a statement after an Emergency Congress Meeting of the association in Lokoja.

He said the suspension was to honour the NMA National President, Mike Ogirima, who appealed to the congress to suspend the strike, to further dialogue with the state government.

Mr. Tijani also said that the congress decided to suspend the strike due to the plea from the general public, coupled with the love the doctors had for the patients.

    “All doctors working with Kogi Government are hereby directed to resume work as from Thursday, March 22.

    “The congress also expected the state government to pay the arrears of salary owed its doctors within the next one month and address other issues that resulted in the strike, to avoid another round of strike.

    “The congress warned against any form of victimisation of any member of the association that participated in the strike as such action will be resisted by NMA,” Tijani said.

    ‘’The association, however, commended ‘’the medical elders’’, CMD KSSH, CMD HMB, Special Adviser to the Governor on Health Matters, Dr Attah Ahmed.

    ‘’We also praise the Commissioner for Health, Dr Saka Audu, all for their role to ensure amicable resolution of the crisis.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the NMA on January 7, directed its members in all the state hospitals to embark on strike due inability of the state government to meet their demands.

     The demands include: “Irregularities in salary payment for doctors. 10 doctors owed salary ranging from four to 15 months, gross underpayment of salaries to doctors with some receiving as low as N35, 000 per month.

    “Non-promotion and annual step increment for several years, non-implementation of Revised CONMESS, 60 per cent payment of August to December 2017 salary to doctors while implementing 100 per cent tax deduction from the same salary.

    “Retirement of senior doctors yet to attain the statutory age or year of retirement, implementation of ‘No-work-No-Pay’ policy in the ongoing strike by not paying doctors January 2018 salary.”

Viola Davis announces Children’s Book “Corduroy Takes a Bow”

Oscar winning actress Viola Davis will be releasing a children’s book “Corduroy Takes a Bow.”

The book is made up of characters based on a best selling children’s book “Corduroy,” which was released in 1968.

Davis’ take on the characters will be released on the 50th anniversary of the original book, September 4, 2018.

The original book was one of very few books Davis connected to as a child, with its main human character, teddy bear Corduroy’s friend, Lisa, was a black girl. Davis told People:

    When I was a little girl, it wasn’t often that I found myself reflected in the pages of a book.

    Corduroy was an exception, and I adored flipping through it. To be able to introduce a new generation, including my daughter, to this character that was so special to me in my childhood is an incredible honor.

In Davis’ version, illustrated by Jody Wheeler, Corduroy and Lisa visit the theatre.

Buhari Sacks Paul Boroh, Coordinator Of Amnesty Programme

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the dismissal of the coordinator of the presidential amnesty programme for former Niger Delta militants, Paul Boroh.

Boroh’s dismissal was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday afternoon by Femi Adesina, the special adviser to the president on media and publicity.

In the statement, Adesina said Charles Dokubo, a professor, has been appointed to replace Boroh.

    The statement read: “Prof Dokubo is currently director of research and studies at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs. He holds a PhD in strategic studies from the University of Bradford, United Kingdom, and hails from Abonema, Akuku-Toru local government of Rivers state.”

The statement said Babagana Monguno, national security adviser, has been directed to probe the activities of the amnesty office since 2015 when Boroh was appointed.

    “Meanwhile, the president directs the national security adviser (NSA) to carry out a full investigation into the activities of the Amnesty Programme from 2015 to date, especially allegations of financial impropriety and other acts that are allegedly detrimental to the objectives of the Presidential Amnesty Programme,” the statement added.

Boroh, a retired brigadier general, was appointed on July 28, 2015.

He replaced Kingsley Kuku, the former Special Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on Niger Delta who also doubled as Coordinator of the Amnesty Programme.

At the time of his appointment, he was charged with the speedy resolution of hitches in the implementation of the amnesty programme, such as the non-payment of outstanding allowances to ex-militants.

Buhari Writes Senate, Rejects Amended Timetable For 2019 Elections

President Muhammadu Buhari has penned the Senate, declining assent to the new amendment to the Electoral Act regarding election sequence in the 2019 general elections.

The president’s rejection was contained in a letter read Tuesday on the floor of the upper legislative chamber by Senate President Bukola Saraki.

A similar letter was also sent to the Speaker of House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara.

    Buhari’s letter read, “Pursuant to Section 58(4) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended), I hereby convey to the Senate, my decision, on 3rd March 2018, to decline Presidential Assent to the Electoral Amendment Bill 2018 recently passed by the National Assembly.

    “Some of my reasons include the following:

    “The amendment to the sequence of elections in Section 25 of the principal act, may infringe upon the constitutionally guaranteed discretion of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to organize, undertake and supervise elections provided in Section 15(A) of the third statue to the Constitution;

    “The amend to Section 138 of the principal act to delete two crucial grounds upon which an election may be challenged by candidates, unduly limits the rights of candidates in elections to a free and fair electoral review process;

    “The amendment to Section 152 Subsection 325 of the Principal Act may raise Constitutional issues over the competence of the National Assembly to legislate over local government elections.

    “Please accept Distinguished Senators, the assurances of my highest consideration.

    Yours Sincerely.”

With the rejection of amendments by the president, the next option left for the National Assembly is to override the president’s veto or let the act remain as it is.

Wasiu Ayinde: Nigeria’s Fuji Musician Becomes UN Ambassador

Popular Nigerian Fuji musician, Mr. Wasiu Ayinde has been decorated the UN-SDG Ambassador by the Civil Society Coalition on Sustainable Development at the International Stakeholders Conference on SDG.

According to Nigerian Tribune, the event took place at the Cultural Centre Kuto, Abeokuta, where many dignitaries including the Ogun State governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun witnessed the colourful occasion.

Mr. Ayinde was honoured by the UN barely a few days after he celebrated his 61st birthday.

The Fuji musician was honoured because of his contribution to humanity through his music, said the organisers while citing the reason why he was selected.

The musician received the award alongside other honorees like the Ogun State First Lady, HE Olufunso Amosun, prolific film maker, Tunde Kelani and many others.

The Civil Society Coalition is affiliated with the United Nations and it has over 150 registered civil society and non-governmental organisations under its fold in Nigeria.

#BBNaija 2018 Day 42: Leo And Ifu Ennada Say Goodbye To The House

The pair of Lifu (Leo and Ifu Ennada) have had quiet an interesting journey in the #bbnaija House; from being paired almost by default to winning the Pepsi Roc Da Mat Challenge and dodging the Eviction axe last week, their stay has been from one battle to another.

On a personal note, Ifu Ennada has been one of the mysterious housemates in the #bbnaija house. Besides having shown some emotion during her diary sessions and the kissing episode that occurred between her and Bitto, there have never been instances where she over-displayed her vulnerability.

Despite the favt that we cant be too sure that her strong demeanour was all a front, Ifu Ennada’s name can easily be used as an adjective to describe a person not easily broken.

Her patience seemed to go from subtle to strong in a minute because she’s lost it a couple of times and when she got to the climax of things, she couldn’t be censored. She represented all that she stood for and firmly stood for all that she represented.

Leo on the other hand either gave too little or just enough. His stay in the #bbnaija House has been somewhat philosophical. This lead to him being almost invisible and only ever taking centre stage when talking strategy, business, or when putting off the romance flames from Alex.

Talking about Alex, his last weeks in the #bbnaija House were almost completely centered around her and as were hers. He also let loose and confessed his ‘Like’ for her during last week’s live show, possibly pressured by the fact that she was the first to lay her heart bare.

He has however shown that he places integrity at the forefront of everything and has mastered the art of being calm under immense pressure.

The Lifu pair came unexpectedly but both #bbnaija housates gave their all to make it work. Their collaborative efforts made it possible for them to bag the Pepsi mega price despite all the controversy that surrounded the challenge.

They were also part of Team Blue, the bunch that managed to knit their brains together and come up with a concept that was convincing enough to win them the Heritage Bank Task.

Their graceful display of maturity and strategic intelligence has seen them this far into the competition and they deserve all the accolades they get.

Stoger Disappointed In Dortmund After Home Loss

Italy Prosecutors Open Investigation Into Davide Astori Death

Italian public prosecutors are set to open proceedings to determine whether the sudden death on Sunday of Fiorentina captain Davide Astori could be considered as manslaughter.

Davide Astori, who made 289 Serie A appearances and played 14 times for Italy, died suddenly at the team hotel in Udine ahead of a match at Udinese. The game was postponed along with all of Sunday’s other Serie A fixtures.

Udine public prosecutor Antonio De Nicolo told state broadcaster Rai in a radio interview that an autopsy would be carried out on Tuesday.

“It’s our duty to discover whether this was a tragic piece of misfortune or whether someone could have detected something,” he said, adding that there was no indication of foul play or suspicions against any individual.

Prosecutors in Italy are obliged to investigate such cases.

On Monday, fans continued to gather at Fiorentina’s Artemio Franchi stadium to pay tribute to the player, leaving flowers, scarves and messages such as “Ciao, Capitano”.

Davido Donates $5000 To Rwandan Music School Students

Superstar Nigerian singer, Davido has once again shown his philanthropic side by giving back to the society.

On his visit to a music school in Rwanda, Davido made a pledge to donate $5000 and gifted all students free tickets to his concert later that day.

The musician shared a video of himself during his visit on twitter. Davido also performed live for the students.

Davido is currently on a 30 billion tour, after his 30 billion concert, set to visit between 28 – 30 different locations across, Africa, South Africa and Europe.

REVEALED! Nigeria Now Losing N774 Million Daily To Fuel Subsidy

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has revealed that it was subsidising the supply of petrol to the tune of N774 million every day, given the landing cost of the imported fuel and the regulated pump price in the domestic market.

The revelation was brought to light on Sunday, barely a few days after the corporation turned down a freedom of information request by Femi Falana, human rights lawyer, on how much the government was spending on subsidy.

    NNPC GMD Reveals That Nigeria Is Now World’s Largest Petrol Importer

The NNPC also said that the benefit of this costly subsidy to the national treasury is being enjoyed by only a few as well as in neighbouring countries on the account of the continued smuggling of the fuel across the borders.

The NNPC Group Managing Director, Maikanti Baru, has also pleaded with the comptroller general of the Nigerian Customs Service, Hameed Ali, a retired colonel, to help check the proliferation of fuel stations in communities with international land and coastal borders across the country.

He said it had energised unprecedented cross-border smuggling of petrol to neighboring countries, making it difficult to sanitise the fuel supply and distribution matrix in the country.

    “NNPC is concerned that continued cross-border smuggling of petrol will deny Nigerians the benefit of the Federal Government’s benevolence of keeping a fix retail price of N145 per litre despite the increase in PMS open market price above N171 per litre,’’ an NNPC statement quoted Baru saying during a visit at the weekend to the customs chief.

Olisa, Dj Jimmy Jatt, Moet & others review Mr 2kay’s Elevated Album | Documentary

Veteran media icon, Olisa Adibua, alongside legendary disc jockey, Jimmy Jatt and radio goddess, Moet Abebe were some of the unbiased critics that participated in Mr. 2Kay’s ‘Ride to the Elevated Album’ exercise that held about 2 weeks before the release of the album.

The ‘Ride to the Elevated Album’ is a first of its kind project where Mr. 2Kay indulged some shot callers in the music and media industry who listened to some of the songs off his latest album and aired their honest opinions about the songs and by extension, the album.

Other carefully selected personalities were Folu Storms, host of the Grapevine on Smooth FM, Noble Igwe media entrepreneur and fashion influencer, and the ever blazing DJ Neptune. Rick Ross On Life Support After Being Found Unresponsive at Home

Rapper Rick Ross has been hooked up to a machine that is taking over the function of his heart and lungs, TMZ is reporting.

Ross was hospitalized early Thursday morning after he was found unresponsive in his Florida home by police and emergency teams, according to Billboard.

An ambulance took the 42-year-old Florida native to a hospital, where he was treated for respiratory issues.

Officials told the Blast they considered the call serious because Ross has a history of seizures, and a 911 caller said that Ross was just “nodding his head.” TMZ is reporting that Ross is being treated in the hospital’s cardiac unit.

Conte Wants More From Morata And Barkley

Antonio Conte has challenged Alvaro Morata and Ross Barkley to show their worth to the club.

Morata joined Chelsea in the summer and impressed in the opening months, with 10 goals in the league, however, he has not found the net since boxing day.

Barkley joined in January and has not had many opportunities to prove himself, with hamstring injury proving to be a problem.

“He has to work and to recover the best form after an injury in his back,” Conte told reporters ahead of Sunday’s trip to face league leaders Manchester City.

“He has to work and have patience and we must have patience. But the only way is to work.”

“Ross Barkley, in this week he trained with us. Now he has recovered from his injury and he will come with us for Manchester City,” the Italian added.

“Then I don’t know if I decide to find a place on the bench for him or in the stand for another week.”

Crystal Palace Confirm Signing Of Former Liverpool Goalkeeper Diego Cavalieri

Crystal Palace have confirmed the signing of former Liverpool goalkeeper Diego Cavalieri on a contract until the end of the season.

The 35-year-old had been available on a free transfer following his release from Brazilian side Fluminense at the end of 2017.

Diego Cavalieri underwent a trial before officially penning a contract with Palace, where he will once again link-up with Eagles boss Roy Hodgson, who worked with the stopper at Liverpool.

“I am very happy to be here and have been training with the guys for some time now,” Cavalieri told Palace’s official website.

“The atmosphere in the dressing room has been really good and they have received me very well so we can talk a lot and get to know everyone. I am very happy with this opportunity.”

He will provide back-up for Wayne Hennessey while Julian Speroni is out with a knee injury. He has three caps for Brazil.
